SMART Technologies Inc. Supports Intel® Teach to the Future Program
More than US$400,000 in classroom technology donated to successful program
Calgary, AB --- June 30, 2003 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces a donation of more than US$400,000 in interactive classroom technology to support the Intel® Teach to the Future program. Intel Teach to the Future is a free professional development program for K-12 in-service teachers and pre-service educators. Participants learn from fellow educators how, when, and where to incorporate technology tools and resources into their curriculum. To date, over one million teachers in 28 countries worldwide have successfully completed the program.
SMART has donated more than 160 SMART Board™ interactive whiteboards with Floor Stands, worth more than US$400,000. These products are awarded to educational institutions participating in the program.
“SMART continues to demonstrate leadership and dedication to teachers and students through the Intel Teach to the Future program,” says Stephen Andrews, U.S. Program Manager for Intel Teach to the Future. “Teachers across the country are learning new ways to engage their students with technology, a powerful tool for teaching and learning.”
